Julia Vashtalova, PhD (St. Petersburg / Tomsk, Russia)

Graduate of Tomsk State Pedagogical University, Julia Vashtalova received her PhD from St. Petersburg State University, Department of English Philology in 2009. In 2006 she studied and worked at the University of the South, Sewanee, TN. Beginning in 2008 she has worked as administrator of the Critical Languages Scholarship Russian Institutes in Russia, partnering with Tomsk State University, Kazan State University, and The Linguistic University of Nizhny Novgorod. She now works as an interpreter and translator. Beside English, Julia also speaks Spanish. Apart from globe-trotting for work and pleasure, Julia enjoys all sorts of motion including modern dancing, in-city bike riding and chasing the beauty of the moment with her amateur camera.
