HOW TO APPLY

Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis through March 1, 2012. If space permits, late applications may be accepted at the Program Director's discretion. Students who are applying for ACLI program support through external fellowships or scholarships from their home institutions, including FLAS, should make a note of this on their applications. |

Required Materials
1. Complete SUNY Overseas Academic Programs Application.
Applicants must apply via the following online application system:

Documents to upload directly to the online application system:
- One page, typed Study Statement (Download here).
- Passport Copy (Upload a legible image of the information page of your passport).
- Official transcript from your home university. Please retain the document in case we must request it at a later date.
- You will be asked to provide the names of and contact information for your two academic reference providers and your language proficiency provider.

2. ACLI application materials to submit to acli@notes.cc.sunysb.edu
ACLI Required Application Supplement, including:
- ACLI Supplemental Application Form (3 pages) Download Application Supplement
- Russian Essay (See Supplemental Application Form for details)
- Copy of Permanent Resident Card, if applicable
3. Confidential Letters of Recommendation and Language Proficiency Form (Updated 23 Jan 2012)
- The Two Academic Reference Providers you list in your SUNY online application should each submit a Confidential Letter of Recommendation. Once you input their names and contact information into the "Apply Yourself" system, they will each receive an email with an access code and instructions on how to proceed.
- The Confidential Foreign Language Proficiency Form is to be completed and submitted directly by a Russian Instructor – who can but need not be one of your 2 academic reference providers. Input his or her name and contact information into the "Apply Yourself" system in order provide this form to your instructor and enable him or her to upload it to your application. (Be sure to select "Language Proficiency Provider" from the Recommendation/Lang. Proficiency Provider dropdown box!)
- It is preferred that all forms and letters be uploaded to the "Apply Yourself" system. If an alternative is needed, your instructors may elect to send confidential letters of recommendation and language proficiency forms by email directly to acli@notes.cc.sunysb.edu. Applications will only be reviewed upon receipt of ALL materials.
